New Barcelona signing Wojciech Szczęsny on Friday joined his teammates in training at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper for the very first time.
Shot-stopper Szczęsny of course put pen to paper on terms with Hansi Flick’s side earlier this week.
After being sought out on the back of the long-term injury suffered by Marc-André ter Stegen, the Pole has arrived to provide competition for Iñaki Peña for the remainder of the campaign.
Szczęsny, for his part, has not taken to the pitch in a competitive setting since late last season, with Juventus.
Not only that, but the 34-year-old did not have a pre-season, either, having actually come to the decision to hang up his gloves over the summer.
Safe to say, then, that the Barcelona coaching staff have their work cut out in getting Szczęsny back up to speed as soon as possible.
And, as alluded to above, on Friday, the first steps towards precisely that were kicked into gear in Catalunya’s capital.
