Barcelona starlet Òscar Gistau proved himself the star of the show, en route to the club’s UEFA Youth League downing of Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
Barca’s U19s marked their return to action on the continent a short time ago, welcoming German heavyweights Bayern to the Estadi Johan Cruyff ahead of the Champions League showdown between the clubs later this evening.
And, when all was said and done, it was the Blaugrana who emerged triumphant, courtesy of a 3-1 result.
The aforementioned Òscar Gistau, meanwhile, was responsible for two of the hosts’ three goals, continuing to live up to his name as Barcelona’s ‘9 of the future’.
The 16-year-old’s first came inside ten minutes, when Gistau showcased fine control in a tight space, before slotting home with his right foot:
The Spaniard was then back at it again shortly after the half-hour mark, on this occasion dribbling to the edge of the Bayern penalty area, before unleashing an unstoppable strike into the far top corner:
And Jan Virgili went on to put the clash to bed just beyond the interval, getting on the end of Arnau Pradas’ pinpoint delivery from the left to direct home a fine finish from close range:
