Vinícius vs Rodri: Final Ballon d’Or votes revealed

The details of the final voting for last week’s Ballon d’Or have on Friday come to the fore online.

And they point towards Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. as having been pipped to the post by Manchester City midfielder Rodri.

Wide-man Vinícius was of course widely expected to lift the ‘Golden Ball’ at last week’s ceremony in Paris.

This was until, at the last minute, word was forthcoming that the Brazilian had been overlooked, in favour of the aforementioned Rodri.

Chatter surrounding the result has since proven a headline talking point across world football, amid heated debate amongst fans, pundits and media presence alike.

Such individuals will, in turn, no doubt be interested to hear of the final results of the Ballon d’Or voting process coming to the fore online.

As confirmed by insider Fabrizio Romano, Vinícius collected a total of 1129 points to be named the game’s very best player.

This is just 41 fewer than eventual winner Rodri, who was rewarded for his excellence with Spain and Manchester City alike with 1170 points.
