Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. made use of the chance to send a clear message to the club’s supporters, after finding the net for the latest time.
Real, of course, are currently locked in action on the continent.
In the 4th fixture of the club’s Champions League campaign, Los Blancos have welcomed Italian heavyweights AC Milan to the Spanish capital.
And, after the evening’s visitors took an early lead through Malick Thiaw, it was the aforementioned Vinícius who dragged Carlo Ancelotti’s troops back on level terms.
After being taken down in the visitors’ penalty area, wide-man Vinícius dusted himself down, to slot home the ensuing spot-kick.
And, in his celebrations, the Brazilian international sent a clear message to all of a Real Madrid persuasion.
The name of attacker Vinícius has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines over the last week, after the 24-year-old was at the last minute snubbed for the Ballon d’Or.
Real Madrid, as an institution, threw their full backing behind the club’s star winger, going as far as to boycott the Ballon d’Or ceremony as a show of support.
And this evening, Vinícius responded with a clear show of commitment to Los Merengues, making his way to the home crowd at the Santiago Bernabéu, before kissing the club’s famed badge:
