Vinícius glad to make it to Qatar injury-free

Vinícius has spoken about going to the World Cup with Brazil injury-free after being on the receiving end of challenges from opponents in La Liga.

“You can make strong challenges, but they were dirty with the tackles. Rodrygo and I suffered a lot in those last league games and we feared the worst, getting injured and missing the World Cup,” he told Reuters ahead of the World Cup with Brazil.

“When you start to become an important player, the opponents come after you harder and you have to learn how to deal with that.

“I learned a lot from Neymar when he played for Barcelona, he also suffered a lot. Cristiano (Ronaldo), when he played for Real, too,” Vinícius added.

On helping society

“I think I have to do more. I see how sportspeople like Lewis Hamilton and LeBron James do good. I want to do the same, to help people in many ways. Education is important, because not everyone can become a footballer. I strive to help people in Brazil, to keep improving and evolving as a person.”
