Villarreal are set to pay Borussia Dortmund €23m for Spanish international striker Paco Alcácer, according to Onda Cero.
It is still unclear whether the player will be bought in January or if there will be a loan deal for the remainder of the season with the option to buy.
Alcácer is said to be frustrated with the lack of playing time in the Bundesliga and a return to La Liga is what the Spaniard is aiming for in time for the European Championships in June.
The Yellow Submarine are looking to strengthen their attacking options before the end of the winter transfer window having lost Toko Ekambi to Lyon.
