According to Mundo Deportivo, Villarreal have revived their interest in Facundo Pellistri and hope to complete the signing within the next few days. Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is thought to be open to the idea of allowing the out-of-favour Uruguayan to leave the club in January, which has attracted the attention of multiple clubs.
The 22-year-old has never been a regular since his arrival at the club for 12 million euros in 2020. Despite the poor performances of Anthony and Marcus Rashford, he has still been unable to move his way up in the team, with his last start coming in September.
Although Villarreal are looking for a permanent transfer, a loan deal until the end of the season remains a possibility, with Unioted still hoping to get back some of the original transfer fee.
