Speaking to Movistar after Villarreal beat Arsenal to reach this year’s Europa League final, a delighted club president Fernando Roig admitted he was proud of his club’s achievement.
“I’m delighted, and so happy for Villarreal. This is great and we’re all extremely excited. After three missed opportunities it’s now our turn for a final. You have three English teams and one Spanish team left in Europe. We suffered a lot tonight. We also played well, didn’t create many chances, but here we are. It’s a very proud time for us all. It’s going to be very difficult against Manchester United but we’ll prepare well. I’d like to thank all our supporters.“
