Villarreal consider move for Almería forward Umar Sadiq

Villarreal have already confirmed the signing of José Luis Morales and the Yellow Submarine continue to work on building their squad for the 2022/23 campaign.

Outgoings are also necessary at La Cerámica and one player who could be on his way out is Dutch international Arnaut Danjuma. The winger has asked the club to leave after a fine first season at the club, with West Ham in talks for his signature.

The lack of Champions League next season means Villarreal will have to sell and Danjuma could bring in between €35-45 million this summer.

Danjuma’s replacement could be Almería forward Umar Sadiq, according to Superdeporte. Villarreal are already working on the move as reported by Relevo.

Villarreal have met with Almería to discuss the transfer. Almería, recently promoted to La Liga, are not willing to let their star player go for less than €25 million.

Villarreal, at the request of manager Unai Emery, want more options in attack and Umar Sadiq fits into Emery’s plans, but Villarreal have yet to decide to accept the terms that Almería are asking for.

Midfielder Manuel Morlanes (23), could act as part of the exchange to reduce the fee for Villarreal.
