Villarreal close deadline day deal for Aston Villa’s Bertrand Traoré

La Liga outfit Villarreal have sealed a late-window deal for a fresh addition to the club’s attacking ranks.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has this evening provided an insight into developments behind the scenes at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

The player set to take his talents to Castellón with a view to the 2nd half of the campaign? Bertrand Traoré.

Wide-man Traoré, for his part, has spent the term to date in England, with Aston Villa.

After being afforded just a pair of Premier League appearances by Claret and Blue boss Unai Emery, however, speculation had long begun to spread that the 28-year-old was inching towards a Villa Park exit.

And, as alluded to above, late on Thursday, precisely that has been confirmed.

As per the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano, Traoré and Villa have come to a mutual agreement on the termination of his contract.

This has since opened the door for the Burkina Faso international to put pen to paper on terms with Villarreal, with an official announcement of as much expected to arrive in short order.
