A leading member of the attacking ranks at Real Betis has on Tuesday officially sealed a move to La Liga rivals Villarreal.
The player in question? Ayoze Pérez.
The name of frontman Ayoze has of course positioned itself front and centre in the Spanish media chatter over the course of recent days.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the aforementioned Villarreal had identified the former Leicester City man as a leading summer transfer target.
The Yellow Submarine brass, in turn, quickly kicked into gear negotiations with their counterparts at Real Betis.
And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday, such talks have officially borne fruit.
As per a statement across Villarreal’s website and social media platforms, Pérez, fresh off clinching glory at Euro 2024 with Spain, has put pen to paper on terms at La Cerámica through the summer of 2028:
‘Villarreal CF and Real Betis have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ayoze Pérez. The footballer from Tenerife will represent the Yellow Submarine for the next four seasons, until June 2028.’
