Valencia star ruled out for remainder of season

La Liga outfit Valencia have on Tuesday been dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.

This comes amid confirmation that a member of the club’s defensive ranks is set to spend the final weeks of the campaign on the treatment table.

The player in question? Jesús Vázquez.

Left-back Vázquez, for his part, was forced into a premature departure from Valencia’s latest outing, a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Alavés over the weekend.

He was, in turn, put through a round of medical scans and tests over the course of the last 24 hours.

And as much have revealed a thigh injury for the 21-year-old, who, according to Mundo Deportivo, is now in line to sit out each of Valencia’s four remaining La Liga fixtures.

‘Jesús Vázquez has been diagnosed with an injury to his right adductor longus muscle, suffered during last Sunday’s match against Deportivo Alavés at Mestalla.

‘The left back will undergo medical, physiotherapy and rehabilitation treatment at the Ciudad Deportiva to decide upon a date for his return.’

Backup goalkeeper Jaume Doménech, who was also forced to limp out of Los Che’s weekend meeting with Alavés, has too been diagnosed with an injury, to ‘the rectus femoris tendon of his right quadriceps’.
