Valencia star Hugo Duro sends message to Vinícius Jr. ahead of Real Madrid clash

Valencia star Hugo Duro has this afternoon directed a public message to Real Madrid counterpart Vinícius Jr.

As much, of course, comes ahead of the impending showdown between the two clubs this weekend.

Valencia are set to act as hosts on Saturday night, whey they welcome top of the table Real Madrid to the Mestalla for a highly-anticipated La Liga clash.

In the buildup to the fixture, it is the name of the aforementioned Vinícius which has taken its place front and centre in the media chatter.

This comes with the Brazilian international set to make the return to the Mestalla for the first time since last season’s infamous events, which saw Vinícius ultimately sent off after being subjected to some of the most vile racial abuse in the recent history of Spanish football.

The Valencia brass, in turn, this week rejected a direct request on the part of Netflix, to film the latest chapter of their documentary surrounding the life of the Real Madrid winger at the club’s ground.

Tensions, as a result, have since only continued to mount.

And, as alluded to above, on Wednesday, one of those set to lock horns with Vinícius in Valencia has sent a message to the 23-year-old, regarding the atmosphere awaiting him at the Mestalla.

Speaking in an interview with Gol, Hugo Duro – formerly of Real Madrid himself – assured that a ‘hostile environment’ will be in store for his Blancos counterpart, albeit one, from a sporting standpoint, ‘with all the respect in the world’:

“I’m looking forward to Saturday so that Vini Jr. can see that those idiots do not represent Valencianismo. It’s going to be a hostile environment for him but at a football level with all the respect in the world.”
