Valencia are planning to finalise the renewal of José Luis Gayà’s contract this week, report Marca.
The 27-year-old’s contract with Los Che is set to expire in June 2023 and the club are keen to renew it.
Club president Layhoon Chan is expected to travel to Valencia later this week to finalise negotiations. It is believed that the Spanish side and Gayà have agreed most terms of the deal that would see his contract extended with the club until 2028 and both parties just need to iron out the finer details of the agreement.
During Chan’s stay on the Mediterranean coast, Valencia will most likely announce the extension of Jaume Doménech’s contract as well, which was finalised previously.
Los Che are keen to extend Gayà’s contract prior to the World Cup as he may attract interest from other teams during the tournament.
The left-back has spent his entire career at Valencia and is nearing 300 appearances for the club in all competitions.
