Valencia close to completing the signing of Edinson Cavani

Valencia are close to completing the signing of Edinson Cavani, according to journalist Héctor Gómez.

The Uruguayan striker, in Spain since last weekend, is a free agent after finishing his contract with Manchester United and his desire has been to sign for Valencia despite the interest of other teams. Cavani has spoken with Valencia boss Gennaro Gattuso and decided that Mestalla is where he wants to play this season.

Villarreal are also interested in the veteran striker. The arrival of Cavani will allow for the departure of fellow Uruguayan Maxi Gómez. Turkish centre-back Cenk Özkacar will also join the club, on loan from Lyon. Los Che also want to sign a winger and a midfielder before the end of the transfer window.

Bryan Gil’s loan deal has been finalised. An agreement for the return of the winger, who played on loan at Mestalla last season, has been reached between the player and Tottenham.
