Valencia chasing Brighton star on loan as the threat of relegation looms

Poor form for Valencia has left them in a dangerous spot once again. After narrowly avoiding relegation during the 2022/23 season, and then achieving a top-half finish last season, they are now back fighting in the danger zone.

With his side stuck in 19th place, club owner Peter Lim has reportedly authorised the signing of players with a slightly higher salary in an effort to avoid relegation.

As per Relevo, one such target is Brighton midfielder Julio Enciso, who has already been given the green light by the Premier League club to head out on loan.

Enciso has featured fairly regularly for Brighton this season but has only had two starts in the league from 12 appearances. The majority of the 20-year-old’s minutes this season have come from the FA and EFL cups, as well as international duty with Paraguay.

Reports currently indicate that Enciso is mulling over all the options he has at his disposal, as clubs like Leicester and Ipswich have also been in pursuit of the Paraguayan’s signature.

Watch this space to see if Julio Enciso could possibly be playing his football at the Mestalla stadium when the January transfer window slams shut.
