‘Unacceptable’ – Getafe boss José Bordalás leaps to defence of Mason Greenwood

Getafe head coach José Bordalás has today launched a stern defence of on-loan attacker Mason Greenwood.

As much comes after the Englishman was targeted with a fresh round of abusive chants over the weekend.

En route to Getafe’s 1-1 stalemate with Real Sociedad, sections of the visiting crowd at the Estadio Coliseum were heard repeatedly chanting:

“Greenwood die” and “Greenwood rapist”.

The matter has since been referred to the Spanish football authorities.

And one individual adamant that the time has come for action to be taken, as alluded to above, comes in the form of Getafe headmaster José Bordalás.

Speaking in the aftermath of his side’s latest outing, Bordalás was drawn on the chants directed at his attacking star, on far from the first occasion across the season to date.

And, in quotes gathered by Mundo Deportivo, the Spaniard was unwavering in his response:

“It is unacceptable whoever the player is. It is not the first time that this has happened to us with Mason. Measures must also be taken, as happened in the last game against Sevilla. It is unacceptable. Very serious measures and I have nothing more to say.”
