La Liga giants Barcelona have on Tuesday removed the profiles of two players from the first-team page of their official website.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards the ‘two Joãos’ as the pair in question.
Both João Félix and João Cancelo, of course, spent last season plying their trade on loan in Catalunya’s capital.
After not seeing their respective loans made permanent, the Portuguese pair then departed on June 30th.
And yet, until this week, the two players remained front and centre in Barcelona’s first-team squad list, on the club’s website.
As alluded to above, though, as much has on Tuesday at last been changed.
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘Joao Cancelo and Joao Félix are no longer part of the FC Barcelona squad. Until Tuesday 20th August, the two Portuguese players were on the first team roster on the Barcelona club’s website. But they have disappeared.’
This move on Barca’s part coincides with frontman Félix preparing to pen a long-term contract with Premier League heavyweights Chelsea.
For Cancelo, on the other hand, his future remains altogether more up in the air at present, as Barcelona continue to struggle in efforts to carve out a fresh agreement with their counterparts at Man City.
