Two high-profile figures absent from Barcelona party in Almería

La Liga giants Barcelona’s travelling party which arrived in Almería on Thursday afternoon was notably missing two altogether high-profile names.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have provided an insight into the situation.

Most notable was the absence of Ronald Araújo.

Stopper Araújo was omitted from Barcelona’s matchday squad unveiled earlier in the day, owing to an ongoing knee complaint.

And the Uruguayan has not made the trip to Almería with the rest of his teammates, instead staying behind in Catalunya to continue his treatment plan.

And also not in attendance at the Power Horse Stadium tonight will be Joan Laporta.

As per MD, Barca president Laporta has remained at the club’s headquarters on Thursday.

This comes with the Spanish patron planning to accompany the Blaugrana’s women’s team to Zaragoza on Friday, ahead of their Queen’s Cup final meeting with Real Sociedad.
