Two young members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona have left new head coach Hansi Flick ‘surprised’, with their efforts in pre-season.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Ansu Fati and Mikayil Faye as the pair in question.
Wide-man Ansu is of course fresh off an underwhelming loan stint away from Barcelona, with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Defender Faye, meanwhile, has been hotly tipped for a summer departure from Catalunya’s capital, owing to something of an overbooking at the heart of defence.
Evidently, though, both are doing their part in convincing Hansi Flick of their readiness to contribute next season.
As per the aforementioned MD:
‘With a massive presence of youth players waiting for the return of the internationals from the Eurocup and the Copa América, two footballers have powerfully surprised the German coach: Ansu Fati and Mika Faye.’
So impressive have the two been, in fact, that they are already considered to be ‘winning over’ the new Barcelona coaching staff.
