Tottenham want to sign defender Clément Lenglet from Barcelona

Clément Lenglet (27) is currently on loan at Tottenham from FC Barcelona. The agreement between the clubs runs until June 30 and does not include an option to buy. However, Barça have already been informed by Tottenham that they want to sign Lenglet on a permanent deal, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Premier League club are pleased with the French defender, who has played 32 matches for Spurs (23 Premier League, 7 Champions League, one FA Cup and one League Cup) and has scored one goal and provided two assists. He has not been a regular starter in the Premier League (he didn’t play in 11 matches out of a possible 35) but he has been a regular starter in the Champions League.

Tottenham have told Barcelona that they want to sign Lenglet. Mateu Alemany, the director of football at Camp Nou, is in London and has presumably been informed of this. Now it is up to the north London club to convince Lenglet, who has a contract with Barça until 2026. Then it will be up to Spurs to convince Barcelona with an offer that satisfies the Catalan outfit.
