Tottenham Hotspur star Pedro Porro has on Wednesday responded to speculation linking him with a potential winter transfer to La Liga champions Real Madrid.
Defender Porro, for his part, is in the midst of what has been a fine start to the new campaign.
Featuring from the off in all 11 of Tottenham’s Premier League outings, the 25-year-old has shone from his berth at right-back, chipping in with a goal and an assist along the way, too.
And such consistent excellence has not gone at all unnoticed back in his home country.
Recent weeks have seen rumours mount in Spain that Porro has made his way firmly onto the radar of the aforementioned Real Madrid.
Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at right-back following the long-term injury suffered by Dani Carvajal, Porro is considered a leading option.
After linking up with Luis de la Fuente’s Spanish squad for the country’s upcoming pair of Nations League fixtures this week, the former Sporting CP standout was inevitably drawn on his Santiago Bernabéu links.
And, during an interview with El Desmarque, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, Porro went on to explain:
“My friends send me the rumours, it is a compliment… but I am focused on Spurs and the national tea. It is the result of a job well done if one of the best clubs in the world is taking notice of me.”
