Tottenham have tabled an ‘important offer’ for Barcelona transfer target

La Liga giants Barcelona risk missing out on a leading transfer target to Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who name Jonathan David as the player in question.

The name of frontman David has of course long proven a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital.

This comes amid widespread claims that the Barcelona brass are considering a move to bring the Canadian international in for free for next season.

David has made clear on several occasions now that his dream is to wear the colours of the Blaugrana, a clear come-and-get-me plea to Deco and co.

As alluded to above, however, if the latest word stemming from the media on Tuesday is anything to go by, then the competition for the 24-year-old appears to be mounting.

Not only that, but one interested party have gone as far as to table an offer for his services.

As per Sport:

‘The footballer has an important offer from Tottenham financially and will wait, but not long.’

Another potential problem for Barcelona comes in the form of the readiness of rival suitors to hand over a fee for David in January, with the Blaugrana only interested in the case of the transfer coming at zero cost.
