An insight into the leading condition laid out by Toni Kroos to commit to fresh terms with La Liga giants Real Madrid has this weekend been forthcoming online.
The info comes courtesy of Marca, and points towards the German international placing playing time at the top of his priority list.
It is of course common knowledge that, any day now, an announcement is expected to be forthcoming, regarding Kroos putting pen to paper on a new contract in Spain’s capital.
As much comes with the 34-year-old’s current terms primed to expire in just a couple of months’ time.
Kroos, for his part, remains an absolutely integral member of the engine room ranks at the Santiago Bernabéu, one of the first names on the team sheet of boss Carlo Ancelotti.
And, as per the aforementioned Marca, in talks over the renewal of his deal, the former Bayern Munich man asked for little more than to be guaranteed of a similar role moving forward:
‘It is the first condition (and almost the only one) that had to be met for Kroos to agree to continue for another year: remain important.’
If he can carry his current form into the 2024/25 campaign, Kroos should have little problem remaining precisely that…
