Real Madrid midfielders Toni Kroos and Fede Valverde are doubts ahead of Madrid’s trip to Liverpool on Wednesday.

Valverde was replaced in the 61st minute of El Clásico on Saturday and was later spotted struggling to get down a flight of stairs after the game, according to AS. Tests confirmed that he suffered a strong blow to the sole of his foot. German midfielder Kroos also left the game visibly limping when he was taken off at the same time as Valverde, although it is still unknown if the centre midfielder has a serious muscle problem.

Following tests carried out by Madrid’s medical team on Sunday, it was confirmed that right-back Lucas Vázquez has suffered a cruciate ligament sprain in his left knee. This type of injury usually requires around six weeks of recovery, meaning the Spaniard will likely miss the remainder of the season.
