Speaking in an interview with France Football, Thomas Lemar discussed finding form at Atlético Madrid after a frustrating start to life in the Spanish capital.
“There was a lack of adaptation on my part. It took a long time to adapt to Atlético’s system and style of play. Now that I understand all this better and better, things are much better. I feel like I have this DNA in me.”
“When I finished training and returned home I forced myself to do additional training sessions. The confinement allowed me to regain my best form. I worked a lot on my weak points. I concentrated on recovering my game, having fun, getting back to my level and playing for Atlético. It depended on me. I shouldn’t blame anyone. I was the one on the pitch.“
