Real Madrid shotstopper Thibaut Courtois believes he is on the right side of history, as he enters his second Champions League final, against Liverpool at the Stade de France on Saturday night.
“We all have the illusion of winning and expanding the history of Real Madrid”, said Courtois in the press conference ahead of the game, as transcribed by Marca.
Courtois praised Ancelotti’s man-management during pressure situations: “He’s a great coach who knows how to handle groups like few others do.”
Courtois had previously played against Real Madrid for city rivals Atlético in the 2014 Champions League final, when Los Blancos made history by winning thier tenth European Cup.
The Belgian quipped: “You know that when Real Madrid play the final, they win. I’m on the good side of history.”
