The La Liga clubs interested in signing Mason Greenwood

Mason Greenwood has impressed since joining Getafe on loan from Manchester United, with three goals and four assists in 14 games. His form under José Bordalas has caught the eye of several clubs, including Atlético Madrid, who have previously shown interest in the 22-year-old.

Mundo Deportivo report that La Liga giants Barcelona would be interested in a potential signing and would give the Englishman the number 10 shirt, which is free following the departure of Ansu Fati to Brighton.

Despite the club’s financial problems and constant troubles with La Liga’s Financial Fair Play, it is believed that the Catalan side would be willing to offer around €45m, with a potential signing likely meaning the departure of one of Barcelona’s forward players.

Greenwood may offer a solution to the side’s goalscoring problems that have plagued Barcelona, leaving them seven points behind league leaders Real Madrid.

It is also being reported that Getafe would be prepared to pay a club-record €45m to keep turn Greenwood’s loan into a permanent signing. There is a belief at the club that the 22-year-old is an investment and could be worth double within two years.
