An insight into the altogether unusual reasoning behind Barcelona star Gavi having his hand heavily bandaged for the club’s most recent outing has been provided.
Barcelona were of course back in action over the weekend, making the trip to minnows Barbastro for the opening fixture of their Copa del Rey campaign.
En route to an eventual 4-0 Blaugrana triumph, the aforementioned Gavi was for his part forced to watch on from the bench, before being introduced to proceedings during the 2nd-half.
And it was upon the midfielder taking to the pitch that a heavy strapping on his hand was first noted.
What, though, was the reason for as much?
As alluded to above, an insight into as much has since been provided, by way of the reliable Catalunya Radio.
And it only serves in reiterating just how high a standard Gavi, amid his road back to full fitness, has set for himself on the training pitch:
‘Gavi hurt the area at the end of training on December 31, the last of the year. The Barça player was upset with himself for how he had done in the session and hit the wall when he entered the dressing room with such force that he ended up hurting himself.’
