La Liga giants Barcelona boast a buyback option on no fewer than eight of the club’s former players.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Monday provided an insight into the efforts of the Camp Nou brass to maintain control of their ex-breakthrough talents.
Below, a list of the eight players, their current clubs, and the fees for which Barcelona could bring them back, is provided:
- Óscar Mingueza – Celta Vigo – €9 million
- Carles Aleñá – Getafe – €10 million
- Ez Abde – Real Betis – €20 million
- Francisco Trincao – Sporting CP – €20 million
- Mikayil Faye – Stade Rennais – €25 million
- Riqui Puig – LA Galaxy – €10 million
- Nico González – Porto – €30 million
- Estanis Pedrola – Sampdoria – €7 million
It of course remains to be seen whether or not the Barcelona board actually have any interest in bringing any of the aforementioned players back to the club.
But, in securing buyback clauses, the Blaugrana are doing the right thing – ensuring that in the case of one of their ex-youngsters taking a sudden leap into stardom, they are on standby, ready to pounce.
