The 5 Barcelona stars who would miss Champions League semi-final if booked vs PSG

No less than five members of Barcelona’s first-team ranks will be forced to walk the disciplinary tightrope, in the club’s upcoming meeting with Paris Saint-Germain.

Barca, of course, will mark their return to action on the continent this coming Tuesday night.

After battling their way to a 3-2 triumph in the tie’s first-leg at the Parc des Princes, Xavi’s troops will attempt to put PSG to the sword once and for all, in the Champions League quarter-final showdown between the clubs.

The Blaugrana coaching staff, as a result, are expected to opt for a strong starting XI in Catalunya’s capital.

As alluded to above, though, in their efforts to contribute towards an eventual victory on Tuesday, five such players will be forced to watch their step.

This comes owing to their respective disciplinary records.

Despite claims to the contrary, all of Frenkie de Jong, Lamine Yamal, João Félix, Ferran Torres and Ronald Araújo are just a single booking away from picking up a Champions League suspension.

Bookings are wiped at the semi-final stage of the tournament, but suspensions are not.

This means that, in the case of all of the aforementioned quintet making it through Tuesday’s action without picking up a caution, they will no longer need to worry about yellow cards in this season’s Champions League.

Should any be booked against PSG, though, they will miss Barcelona’s semi-final first-leg outing, in the case of Xavi’s side advancing to the final-4.
