Two leading members of the first-team squad at La Liga giants Barcelona have been tasked with acting as mentors for young teammate Lamine Yamal across the season to date.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Marc-André ter Stegen and Raphinha as the pair in question.
Winger Lamine is for his part of course in the midst of nothing short of a brilliant individual campaign to date.
One of the first names on the team sheet of boss Hansi Flick, the Spanish international has continued to build on his reputation as the standout up-and-coming talent in world football.
All told, in 37 appearances across all competitions, Lamine has directly contributed to 29 goals.
Owing to such remarkable consistency, it can be easy to forget, in turn, that Barcelona’s wing sensation remains just 17 years of age.
One individual on whom the significance of as much has evidently not been lost, though, is Blaugrana headmaster Hansi Flick.
As per the aforementioned Sport, Flick has tasked Marc-André ter Stegen and Raphinha with looking out for their young teammate, and stepping in when required:
‘The German has intervened when Lamine had the occasional mistake in day-to-day obligations, while the Brazilian has insisted, tactfully, on the importance of continuing to work the same way on a day-to-day basis despite things going great.’
