Bayern Munich centre-back Tanguy Nianzou (20) has landed in Seville. He will undergo his medical tomorrow ahead of signing a 5-year deal with Sevilla, according to COPE.
After making progress in negotiations over the last few days, Sevilla sporting director Monchi travelled to Munich, where today he closed the last remaining loose ends of the negotiations so that the young French defender could join Julen Lopetegui’s squad.
The transfer is worth €16 million fixed plus €4 million in variables. The signing of Matthijs de Ligt for €70 million cut short Nianzou’s hopes of game time at Bayern. His contract was due to expire in 2024 and he also had Dayot Upamecano as competition.
Bayern are confident that the young centre-back will be able to fulfill his potential at Sevilla and they have reserved an option to buy him back, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Bayern will also reserve a percentage of any future sale. The German side will keep just under 25% of the player’s rights, with Sevilla owning just over 75%, as per ElDesmarque.
Nianzou will become Sevilla’s fourth signing of the summer after Marcao, Alex Telles and Isco.
