Tanguy Nianzou: “Koundé is an example for me.”

Sevilla signed Tanguy Nianzou from Bayern Munich earlier this week for a fee of €16 million.

The Frenchman gave his first interview as a Sevilla player to the club’s communication channels:

“I feel very good, I’m happy to be here. I arrived yesterday with my family and what I saw of the city is quite nice. I saw some fans at the hotel and took some photos and signed autographs. I have to learn to speak Spanish and then I will be much better.”

Nianzou also mentioned that he sees Jules Koundé as an example that he can look up to:

“Koundé is an example because at the beginning he wasn’t with the French senior team and now he is a starter. Maybe he will go to the World Cup with France, so he is one of the examples.”

He also spoke about how he likes to play:

“I prefer to play in defence, I played there with PSG and Bayern, so it’s my preferred position. I feel comfortable making decisions, talking with my teammates and for me, as a defender, you have to talk to everyone because you have to be a leader in that part of the pitch. I hope to be an important player for Sevilla, but first I have to be good in training.”
