Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick intends to make new signing Wojciech Szczęsny his first-choice goalkeeper at the earliest opportunity.
That’s according to Relevo, who have on Saturday provided an insight into the impending battle between Szczęsny, and Iñaki Peña.
The no.1 spot in Catalunya’s capital is of course up for grabs at present.
As much comes after Marc-André ter Stegen’s long-term injury culminated in the aforementioned Szczęsny penning terms with Barcelona through the close of the campaign.
The Pole will now be afforded the opportunity to battle it out with Iñaki Peña, who has stepped up to take his place between the posts in Ter Stegen’s absence to date.
If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, though, then a decision regarding Barca’s no.1 already appears to have been all but made.

‘As soon as Wojciech Szczęsny is fit to play, Flick intends to place him as a starter.’
