Spain boss Luis Enrique has selected his squad for the upcoming Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying matches.
Goalkeepers: Unai Simón, David de Gea, Robert Sánchez
Defenders: Jordi Alba, José Gayà, César Azpilicueta, Marcos Llorente, Eric García, Aymeric Laporte, Íñigo Martínez, Raúl Albiol
Midfielders: Sergio Busquets, Rodri, Koke, Mikel Merino, Carlos Soler, Brais Méndez
Attackers: Pablo Fornals, Pablo Sarabia, Ferran Torres, Adama Traoré, Álvaro Morata, Gerard Moreno, Abel Ruiz
The squad has no Real Madrid players and seven from the Euro 2020 squad have been rested by Luis Enrique. Pedri, Thiago, Olmo, Oyarzabal, Pau Torres, Diego Llorente and Fabián have all been left out.
With only one country going to Qatar directly from the group, the 2 September match in Sweden is key. A win paves the way, a draw makes November’s match in Seville vital and a defeat in Solna means they will have to go to the play-offs. The other two games are on 5 September in Badajoz (Georgia) and 8 September in Pristina (Kosovo).
