Spanish national team captain Álvaro Morata has on Monday made clear his feelings that Barcelona star and international teammate Lamine Yamal is already the standout player in all of world football.
Wide-man Lamine, for his part, is of course in the midst of nothing short of a superb start to the new campaign.
Across starts in all but one of Barcelona’s 11 fixtures across all competitions, the 17-year-old has directly contributed to 10 goals.
Nine such contributions have come in nine La Liga appearances, across which Lamine has wreaked havoc on opposing backlines from his berth on the right flank.
Despite his tender years, the Barca youth product is quickly making a name for himself as not only one of world football’s best youngsters, but best players full stop.
And, as alluded to above, one individual of the opinion that Lamine already boasts a real claim to being the standout player in the game at present comes in the form of Álvaro Morata.
Speaking to the media ahead of Spain’s Nations League meeting with Serbia on Tuesday, La Roja captain Morata was drawn once more on his young teammate’s talents.
And the AC Milan frontman did not hesitate in stating:
“The best player in the world is Lamine Yamal.”
