Spain boss Luis de la Fuente drops Isco hint ahead of Euro 2024

Spanish national team head coach Luis de la Fuente on Monday confirmed that Real Betis star Isco is on his list of potential call-ups for the upcoming European Championships.

Isco, for his part, is fresh off another stellar display over the weekend.

En route to Real Betis’ 3-2 La Liga downing of Almería, the 32-year-old notched both a goal and an assist, on his way to Man of the Match honours.

Remarkably, this marks the 19th occasion across his 28 league outings to date this season on which Isco has scooped the Man of the Match award.

As much comes as the former Real Madrid man continues to roll back the years, as one of Spanish football’s standout performers.

And such exploits, it would appear, could soon culminate in Isco being rewarded on the international stage, too.

Speaking in an interview with Mediaset (as cited by Mundo Deportivo) on Monday, Luis de la Fuente was drawn on the possibility of Betis’ star man being afforded a place in his squad for Euro 2024.

And Spain’s headmaster went on to admit that he is taking as much into serious consideration:

“Isco is a footballer that I love and who is having a great campaign. Yesterday he had a spectacular game. The truth is that he can be with us.”
