New Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick name-dropped one particular member of the youth setup at the club, whilst praising the ongoing development endeavours of the famed La Masia academy.
Flick, for his part, has over the last couple of weeks been afforded his first opportunity to become acquainted with the up-and-coming crop of young talent in Catalunya’s capital.
As much comes with a whole host of Blaugrana starlets having been called up, to train with the club’s first-team squad in pre-season.
Speaking during an interview with Barca One this week, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his first impressions of La Masia’s production line was put to Flick himself.
And the German tactician was not shy in revealing his admiration for his new club’s academy setup, explaining:
“You have players of 15, 16 and 17 years old with incredible quality, but they can still improve a lot.”
From here, Flick then highlighted one Blaugrana talent in particular, namely frontman Toni Fernández, who recently committed to fresh terms in Catalunya:
“Toni Fernández was 15 three or four days ago. This is just something incredible.”
