Sevilla’s Tecatito suffers injury during training

As reported by Marca, Tecatito Corona was injured in Sevilla’s training session this morning.

The Mexican winger suffered a ruptured fibula and deltoid ligament in his left ankle in Los Nervionenses’ final training session before their game against Valladolid tomorrow evening. The player left the Sánchez-Pizjuán in an ambulance.

Tecatito will be operated by Doctor Najarro at the FREMAP hospital this afternoon.

Based on the injury, the 29-year-old is expected to spend the next four to five months recovering on the sidelines.

In addition to Tecatito’s absence, Suso is still recovering. Julen Lopetegui has called up all available players, including new signings Marcão, Isco and Tanguy Nianzou. The Brazilian and the Frenchman had their first training session with the team this morning.

With the length of Tecatito’s absence, Sevilla might find themselves looking for a winger in the final two weeks of the transfer window who can fill the void left by the Mexican international.
