Sevilla’s Tecatito Corona returns to training

Tecatito Corona is to start training with the Sevilla squad later today or tomorrow, report Marca.

As it was communicated earlier in the year, the Mexican winger suffered a broken fibula and a ligament injury in his left ankle on the 18th of August. Tecatito underwent surgery and the estimated recovery time was set to between four and five months.

As shared on the club’s social media, he returned to the pitch at the Ciudad Deportiva to work with recovery staff yesterday and he will be expected to join the rest of the squad later today or tomorrow.

Tecatito’s injury meant that he was forced to miss Mexico’s World Cup campaign, which ended yesterday after finishing below Argentina and Poland in Group C.

The recovery of the 29-year-old will be like a new signing for Sevilla. Los Nervionenses are currently in the relegation zone of La Liga and they hope that Tecatito can give them a boost and support their climb up the standings.
