Sevilla suffer defeat to mount pressure on Diego Alonso

Real Sociedad earned a well-deserved 2-1 victory over a lackluster Sevilla to mount pressure on manager Diego Alonso, who is still without a league win.

La Real went ahead after just two minutes after Sevilla goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic turned the ball into his own net with his foot. The home side continued to dominate in the first half and they deservedly got a second after 20 minutes, thanks to a spectacular Umar Sadiq goal.

Sevilla improved in the second half and got themselves back in the game with a goal from En-Nesyri on the hour mark. The away side continued to push, but any chance of a comeback vanished after Sergio Ramos was sent off for a poor challenge, and Jesús Navas was also dismissed for dissent.

Real Sociedad move up to fifth, while Sevilla are 15th, just four points above the relegation zone, as their poor form continues.
