Sevilla star rejects Aston Villa switch

Premier League outfit Aston Villa have been dealt a double blow in their ongoing efforts to bring in Loïc Badé from Sevilla.

This comes amid confirmation that both club and player have, for the time being, rejected Unai Emery’s side.

The name of defender Badé has of course proven a prominent one in the transfer headlines across Europe over the course of recent weeks.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that the Frenchman has been identified as a leading transfer target on the part of the aforementioned Aston Villa.

The Claret and Blue, in turn, recently kicked into gear negotiations with their Sevilla counterparts, over the terms of a January deal.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media on Thursday is anything to go by, then an agreement between the parties looks a long way off being found.

As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Loïc Badé deal between Aston Villa and Sevilla, not advancing and currently in total stand-by. The player has also not accepted the proposal.’

The proposal tabled by the board at Villa Park is understood to have come in around €26 million, including bonuses.
