Sevilla star Rafa Mir’s Valencia return collapses

La Liga outfit Valencia have been dealt a late-window blow on the transfer front.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has this evening provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes at the Mestalla.

The last couple of days, of course, had seen it widely reported that Los Che were working on adding to the attacking options at the disposal of Rubén Baraja for the 2nd half of the campaign.

The Valencia brass, in turn, identified Rafa Mir of Sevilla as their leading target.

Negotiations had consequently been kicked into gear between the La Liga rivals, amid confidence that an agreement would ultimately be struck prior to Thursday’s winter deadline.

As alluded to above, though, at the last, talks have collapsed.

As per the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano, ‘Rafa Mir’s move to Valencia on loan from Sevilla [is] currently OFF.

This comes after the latter, in their most recent communication, altered the terms of the previously agreed verbal pact between the clubs.

As things stand, Mir’s Los Che return therefore looks dead in the water.
