Sevilla star José Ángel Carmona has this weekend revealed his intention to stay put with the club for the remainder of his playing days.
Defender Carmona is for his part in the midst of what has been a hugely productive opening to the campaign in Nervión.
After returning from a loan spell with Getafe with his future looking altogether unclear, the 22-year-old quickly set about proving his talents to new Sevilla manager García Pimienta.
And, safe to say, such efforts have since proven to be an undeniable success.
Carmona has established himself as an ever-present at the back under García Pimienta, featuring from the off in every one of Sevilla’s 11 La Liga outings thus far in 2024/25.
So much so that the powers that be at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán have kicked into gear negotiations with the full-back’s representatives, over a contract renewal.
Speaking to the media this weekend, the subject of his future in Seville was, in turn, put to Carmona himself once more.
And the Spaniard, in quotes gathered by Mundo Deportivo, made use of the opportunity to reiterate his complete commitment to the cause:
“It was a summer of uncertainty. There is a lot of competition, you can see that, but I always prepare myself. I love being at
Sevilla. I want to be here all my life, it’s my home. The manager is giving me all the confidence in the world, which I really appreciate. I try to show him in every game, on the pitch.”
