Speaking in an interview with Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla sporting director Monchi admitted he had a chat with Sevilla chairman José Castro that lasted between “15 and 20 seconds” over the possibility of signing Isco from Real Madrid.
“It is a logical rumour, because the player wants to leave his club and here is a coach who has had him before and with whom he played at a high level, but there is absolutely nothing in it,” he explained.
Monchi was questioned as to whether the signing of Isco could be made possible in the summer, but he stated that “fortunately in that position we have some very interesting players. It is one of the positions on the pitch where we can be more relaxed. We have players of Isco’s profile here.”
