Sevilla reject second Newcastle United offer for Diego Carlos

Newcastle United have made a second offer for Sevilla centre-back Diego Carlos, according to Marca.

Sevilla have rejected the offer as sporting director Monchi wants to keep the Brazilian defender at the club. The second bid was in the region of €25 million, according to the report.

Diego Carlos’ release clause is €80 million. The Magpies want to add to the signing of Kieran Trippier and bolster their defence in a bid to stay in the Premier League. Diego Carlos is on their list of possible signings, but his departure at this point of the season, with Sevilla in a title race, is now looking quite unlikely.

The centre-back is the player with the most minutes played since Julen Lopetegui took over at the Andalusian club.
