Sevilla pair absent from training before Las Palmas

Two key members of the attacking ranks at La Liga outfit Sevilla were absent from the club’s latest training session on Tuesday.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Andalusia.

Sevilla, along with the rest of Spain’s top-flight, will mark their return to action this weekend.

After being afforded a rest owing to the scheduling of the Copa del Rey finale this past weekend, a meeting with Las Palmas lies in wait for Quique’s troops on Sunday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Sevilla’s stars therefore reconvened at the club’s training ground, as preparations for the trip to Gran Canaria get underway.

As alluded to above, though, two considerable absences were noted from the group.

The players in question? Youssef En-Nesyri, and Érik Lamela.

The former, it is understood, was afforded leave from the Nervionenses’ camp to travel back to his home country of Morocco. He is scheduled to return on Wednesday.

Lamela, on the other hand, is continuing to struggle with a fever. The hope, though, is that the former Tottenham man will have recovered in time to take his place in Quique’s squad to face Las Palmas.
