Sevilla outcast Rafa Mir sends a message to fans after a “helpless season”

Rafa Mir has had a tough season at Sevilla, while the club itself has had an even tougher season still. The striker has played 15 games in La Liga, with only three starts and two goals to his name.

As this difficult season for everyone at the club comes to an end, Rafa Mir has taken to Instagram to share a message with fans.

The 26-year-old said: “A tricky season is coming to an end. A campaign full of helplessness, but I think that situations have to be taken as they come.”

He then touched upon the talk that there has been regarding a lack of commitment on his part, adding: “I have tried to stay away from everything that has been said about me despite the numerous lies that have been told because time will put everything in place.”

The striker came very close to a move to Valencia both last summer and in January, with the breakdown of negotiations in both markets resigning the player to a season on the periphery of this Sevilla squad.

He finished out his message by stating: “I want to thank the support and encouragement I have received all throughout this season.”
