Sevilla confirm extent of Isaac Romero injury

La Liga outfit Sevilla have on Monday provided an update on the wellbeing of attacking star Isaac Romero.

As much, of course, comes after Isaac was forced into a premature departure from the Nervionenses’ most recent outing.

En route to a 1-1 stalemate in the latest edition of El Gran Derbi on Sunday, the 23-year-old went to ground inside the opening quarter of an hour, in evident distress.

After being tended to by the Sevilla medical team, it quickly became clear that Isaac was in no condition to continue, stretchered from the field of play as a result.

And, on Monday, an update on his wellbeing has been forthcoming.

As per an official statement across Sevilla’s website and social media platforms, the Spanish attacker unfortunately looks set to spend the remainder of the season on the sidelines.

This comes with an initial round of medical scans this morning having confirmed that Isaac has suffered a hamstring injury:

‘Isaac Romero, who had to be substituted in El Gran Derbi yesterday, underwent an ultrasound this morning, which revealed that he has a hamstring injury.

‘He will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury, although he is expected to be out for the remainder of the season.’
